Advent Calendar

I am soooo excited!  I just love how this turned out!  This is one of the advent calendars I have made.  This one is actually for sale (at the St Anthony St Nick's Market this weekend).  Of course each "box" has a treat in it but this one is just a little different.  Throughout the month the treat will be a piece to a nativity set.  Dec 1 is the star in the sky and Dec 25 is Baby Jesus.  It really brings home the meaning of Christmas to the little ones looking for treats.

This is the whole calendar:

and this is the nativity.
I think making all the advent wreaths and calendars has totally put me in the Christmas spirit.  We are putting up the tree on Sunday.  We always cut a fresh tree.  Looking forward to it.  I really wish we could be in our new house by Christmas but we will make the best of it in the rent house!  I am insanely busy trying to finish some orders and get ready for the show.  I know that come Sunday I will be in total Christmas gear to set up all the decorations.  Have several thoughts swirling right now!!!

Let me know what you think of this.  Have a great week!  Oh, and let me be the first to tell you: Merry Christmas!

Stuff!!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.  I sure did.  The beach was lovely.  I think I actually like the beach better in the winter than the summer.  My husband's whole family was with us....a house full.  Too bad everyone lives so far from us!

I will be in the St Nick's Market at St Anthony of Padua in The Woodland's this weekend.  The show is Friday and Saturday.  So, my week will be full of finishing things for the show.  I am looking forward to it though.  Check back in the next few days and I will post a picture of some of the advent calendars I will have!  Cute stuff!

Getting ready for the new year - already!?!

Yep.  I have to say I am getting ready for the new year.  Well, kind of.  My first class for the new year will be a card organizer.  I figured that in January people want to organize for the coming year.  How many times do you forget someone's birthday or remember it but don't have a card.  Well, this will certainly help. It is organized by month and has space to store cards and also to write down the special dates.

Just showing you the first page.  As you can see there is even a spot to put your stamps!  I will be teaching this class at Scrapp'n Savvy.  If you are interested please give them a call at 281-288-7289.

More to come!

Christmas music

I love Christmas music.  Really I do.  But not before Thanksgiving!  There is something so wrong when I am buying Thanksgiving turkey and all the fixings and Frosty the snowman is playing throughout the store.   Of course I was singing along with it! (hehehe)

Well, it has been scrappin busy this week.  Unfortunately my class was postponed due to the paper not arriving.  Bummer.  But I have made good use of my time....cleaning my house (yeh!), cleaning my scrap desk (double yeh!), and playing with my kids.  But now back to scrappin.  I started an advent calendar last night.  Many moons ago we had a paper one and it got too beat up when packed away each year.  My big kids that were little then loved it.  So I decided that my little ones "need" one.  I am so excited about it.  There is room for candy surprises and by Dec 25 there will have been an entire nativity brought forth with baby Jesus on the 25th.   I will post pictures when it is finished (maybe tonight!).

I am also trying to get into a few more local shows before Christmas.  Look for the posts.  Also just wanted to say thanks to all of you who are following this.  It is a blessing to have you viewing my creations!

Have a blessed weekend everyone and enjoy our cool (?) weather (I guess it is all relative as it is 70 today).   :)

Show at St Ignatius

Tomorrow, Saturday, I will be in a Holiday Bazaar at St Ignatius (located on Cypresswood near Meyer Park).  Please stop by and take a look at my creations.  I have a variety and the scrapbooks make great gifts.

Hope to see you there!

Just a few notes

Good morning all.  The time change is going to kill me!  I get up early anyway but now it seems like I am up before the birds.  Then I am am exhausted and it is only 9pm!  Eventually I will get used to it.

Just wanted to give everyone a little info.  Most of the recent pictures have been of projects that I have taught in my classes.  Those projects limit me to using only certain brands and amounts of materials.  For example, since I have to stay within a specific dollar amount I cannot use all the embellishments that I would normally.  So, I make all the embellishments from the paper collections : the flowers, leaves, coils, etc.  I will be posting  pics of a new mini that I finished yesterday.  Heavily embellished.  I think it turned out very cute.  Also of note, a couple of you have asked about binding.  I do not own a binding machine.  I do have a crop a dile that I use for hole punching (love that thing).  I do like the cinch bindings but I just bend them by hand.

Thanks for following and feel free to leave comments.  Have a great and blessed day!

One of my favorites

I love, just love the Bo Bunny Snowfall collection.  I saw it about a month ago and just simply could not wait for it to come out!  I love the colors, the glitz, the snowflakes.....  oh, I could go on and on!!  Well, the lovely Susan who owns Scrapbook Memories where I teach attended a Bo Bunny conference and she gave me the sample pack of the Snowfall papers!!!!!!  Oh joy!  So, here's the first creation:
I will be teaching this on Wednesday, Nov 16.  I have so many ideas for this collection rumbling thru my head!  I don't know but this may be one of those paper hoarding situations :)

Have a great weekend.  I know I will.  I plan to be in my little crazy paper world!
It's finally Friday!  I am really looking forward to the weekend.  This week was a bit hectic.  The craziest part was when I sliced my finger open with my craft knife.  No crazy tricks with the knife, it just slipped.  Still hurts but is mostly annoying!

Moving on though.....Just thought I would post a peak at the next class project.  Next Wednesday, Nov 9 I will be teaching the All About Tags mini album.  It is made with Bo Bunny's Father Christmas paper.   The album is 6 x 8 and has 23 tags in it.   Take a look:

This paper is so pretty.  Very nostalgic.  There are some unusual things in the album.  Hope to see you in class.  Sign up soon.   There has been a lot of interest and it will fill up fast!
