Snowfall

A few days ago I gave you a sneak peak of the gift I made for the exchange at Scrapp n Savvy.  I promised full pics and here they are!  There are quite a few.  Sorry about the poor lighting.  It was so overcast yesterday and I just couldn't seem to get enough light.  First are all of the tags (six of them).  Top pic will be the front and the next below will be the back.  Each tag is made to hold a gift card.

Next is the actual box.  It is 4 x 4 x 6.5 inches.  The feet are "ice cubes" I purchased from the local craft store.  They sell them at Christmas for crafting.

The box has an acrylic front that is embossed with iridescent snowflakes.  The top stays closed with mini magnets.  The acrylic took me the most time because I ruined the first one I made!!!  I had never heat embossed on acrylic before and I accidentally heated it too much and the plastic rippled.  So, started over.  I actually used my small space heater to complete the embossing.  It slowly and evenly heated it.  I simply rested my plastic on a small box in front of the heater for about 20 minutes.  Voila!  Embossed with no ripples!

I used the Bo Bunny Snowfall collection for this.  Papers, trinkets, stickers.  But I also added a few other elements that I had in my stash.  I really loved the way this turned out and would have been perfectly happy if it had come home with me.  But, alas, the snowfall box now lives with Derek at Scrapp n Savvy.  I do think he, and all the other ladies there, really liked it.  I think they liked it enough that I will use it as a model for my February love notes project..........

Also,  just a little note on the side.......the Scrapp'n Sampler is NEXT weekend.  This is a great way for everyone to get to know the teachers and their style but also their are added benefits:  you walk out with a project!  There is still space.  Just go to www.scrappnsavvy.com to sign up.  For those who don't live here, visit the Scrapp'n Savvy website and/or razzilldazzilltime.blogspot.com to see some great projects for inspiration.

I hope to see you at the sampler.  Have a wonderful, safe New Year celebration.  Talk to you next year!!  :)

A change of pace

There was a time, a while back, that I made jewelry.  I did very well selling it too.  And then everyone and their brother started selling it and it became , well, not so fun anymore.  I still make things for people who ask, for gifts, for myself, and especially still make rosaries.  So, today I guess I channeled a little of the old jewelry me.  I have been wanting to make these for a while and I am really pleased with the results.
The necklace is long and 2 tiered.
I made the heart using TH Grungeboard that I inked, covered with music sheet and reinked, and finally added the glaze on top of it all.  The little vial is also TH and is filled with 7 pearls and a tiny sterling heart (there are 7 people in my family!).  I am sooooo loving how this one turned out.  I bet I will wear it a bunch!
This necklace is long as well, but not as long as the other one.  I originally bought the bling for a scrapbook but didn't like it when I put it on.  Sooooo, a necklace it is!  I added the pearls and the little bow for some girly girlness.  Now I have to pick between the two!

I have also been working on a project for a gift.  It is a gift card exchange but apparently it is more about what the gc is in than what the gc is.  I really, really love the Bo Bunny Snowfall papers.  I have been hoarding them actually.  Finally cut them!!!!!  I don't want to give away what I am doing for the exchange but here is a sneak peak:

Lots of yumminess going on here!

I will post pics of the final project on Friday morning.  I love it so far..........

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all!  I wanted to say thank you to those who are followers and to those who stop by occasionally.  I am truly blessed with all that I have been given.  Saying thank you to God everyday for the things he has given me.  I hope the best for everyone and hope your new year is wonderful!

oops!

I mistakenly listed the Printery album as a Bo Bunny paper.  It is not.  It is a Prima paper collection.  Sorry for the confusion.

New pictures as promised

Spoiler alert.....some of the following are gifts for friends and family.  So, if you are one of those and don't want to see your gift, look away now!

Below are some of the projects I have completed this weekend.  Can hardly wait for Christmas!

Mini albums for my 2 best friends.  One has all boys but loves the girly combination of pink and green. It is filled with girly ribbons, tags, and some fun bling.  The other is a fan of Mary Englebreit.  I found the ME paper some time ago and just decided to use it.  It was incredibly hard because the paper is glossy and thin like a magazine page.  Very difficult to glue down. Truly a devotion of love and one that I hope she adores!
A herd of reindeer!  For my youngest son's class.  24 of them!  (a Hershey bar inside!)  A bit more time consuming than I originally thought.
This is an album for my sis in law.  Made with the Printery collection from Bo Bunny.  Love it.  It is bigger at 9 x 9 so she can literally just drop photos straight in it.  Below are some of my favorite pages.  I used peach, pale green, deep gray velvet, cream, and black to accent.  Hope she loves it as much as I do. (Sorry for the dark photos; it's still dark outside and I can't seem to get enough light in here,)

And feathers.  And bling.  And vellum envelopes.

Well,  I do think I am on the mend.  May have given the yuck to my hubbie and maybe a child or two.  But the reality is that it's Christmas and Mom must keep moving.  I figure I can have sick days when my kids are out of the house :)  I can hardly wait for my parents to be here.  They have had to postpone their departure due to a blizzard.  A blizzard - hard to think about when it is so warm here.

More pics to come.  I have a ton more gifts to finish in the next few days.  Blessings to all.

It's almost Christmas

Well, it's almost Christmas.  I am almost done purchasing gifts but still have quite a few that I need to make.  I decided to make some mini albums for some people, aprons for mom, and some other sewing projects as well.  My mother is from a rather large family and we do not exchange gifts.  However, we do exchange small handmade items like mini cakes, scarves, etc....  So this year I am making these amazing 3 D ornaments.  Looking forward to making them.  I don't have any pics yet.  I have pneumonia and it is kicking my butt!  I have about 3 hours worth of energy in a day then I sleep the rest.  My chest feels like an elephant is on it!  I will try to put up some pics today though.  I have several cute projects that I would like to share.

On to January.  I will be teaching classes at Scrapp n' Savvy this year.  It is an amazing place with tons of resources and talented people.  The first "class" I will teach will be part of their sampler.  The sampler is a great way to see the styles of all the teachers and walk away with a completed project.  The price is majorly low (I think $5 ish) and it gets you the class, the product, and a discount on shopping that day.  Awesome! I have encouraged all that I know to sign up by calling 281-288-7289.  Tell them Terri sent you please.  Later in January I will teach the card organizer (shown earlier), February I have a page layout kit and a romantic note card class, and in March I will show an adorable mini for spring break.  Pics of the others to come as time gets closer.  I am really looking forward to teaching at Scrapp n' Savvy.

Ok.  I have to go for now.  The coughing has taken over again.  Check back in again soon.  Will post pics.

A little change of plans!

So, as I clearly stated in my last post, my day yesterday was to be spent organizing everything and putting together my etsy store (photos and such).  However, as life goes, my plans were changed rather abruptly!  I have 5 children whom I absolutely adore.  Usually when my schedule de-rails it is due to a child and a need that he/she has (and mom must respond!).  But yesterday morning I left to run 2 errands.  Only 2.  Gone an hour.  Now, what I haven't said is that I also have 3 cats and a dog.  The dog has an amazing love with the trash and usually that is the mess I come home to.  But no.  My wonderful, fluffy furballs created this change of plans.

You see, when I came in I knew something was wrong.  None of the cats came to the door to greet me as usual.  So curiously I called for them and went looking for them.  Found them......curled up in the middle of what was once my craft space.  I say once because they had done a little altering of that space.  I think they were actually after ribbon to play with.  I have 2 aprons that I usually wear and I think they accidentally knocked one off the desk and the ties took everything else with it.  There was this massive pile of ribbon, aprons, paper, all my scisssors, markers, paintbrushes (a few with some chew marks now on them), more paper, envelopes, more paper......well, you get the idea.  And there, in the middle, were 2 of the prettiest kitties ever.  Curled up sleeping on top of it all.  Number 3 was on my chair keeping watch as if to say "They did it mom.  Really.  I just saw it happen!"

So, I picked everything up, kinda straightened it, and did what any right minded lady would do.....went shopping!  I actually just went to a couple of antique stores but found some amazing things.  Inspiration city!

Here are the causes of my latest purchases:
This is Annabelle, my son's precious one.  She is the oldest and takes that role seriously.
Edmund, my daughter's lifeline.  He is the baby, very social, and very mischievious.
And this is my darling, Dopey.  He is a huge mainecoon and I love him dearly.  He is pretty much a major wimp (scared of everything) but has a great purr.

So, now that my desk is put back (with a few new additions  :) ) I will tackle the list today.

Everyone have a great day.  Create something, even if it is just a smile for everyone to see!  Check back tomorrow for updates on the store.

Lots of things

Wow.  There are so many things I want to put here tonight.  I guess I should have blogged yesterday too!  Oh well.  First, my oldest son received his college acceptance letter today.  Can you say excited?  He is still floating high.  I am one very proud mom!  I love him dearly and wish him all the best!

Secondly,  my show this weekend went pretty well.  I met the goal I had set for myself and made some friends to boot!  I definitely would sign up for this show again.  At times it was so boring but the other vendors really made that time fly by.  I am excited to say that all my advent calendars were sold first thing Friday morning.  I think I could have sold many more.  They are time intensive but really cute.  Check in here later in the week for a shout out to a new friend and some pics!

Lastly...it is finally cold here!  Yeah!!  I brought out all my sweaters, my coat, my scarves (including some new ones!), and my gloves.  I am going to make the most of the 10 days of cold we get!  I am seriously trying to figure out how to store some of the cold in me for those hot days ahead.  I spent 4 1/2 hours outside last night at soccer games.  By the time I got home I was a frosty popsicle and wet!  Because it rained too.  Not enough to call the games, but enough to make us wet!  Houston weather....that's how it is.  If you don't like it then wait 10 minutes and it will change.

I have a new addiction I thought I would pass on.  Pinterest.  It is a website that culls information from the internet via its members posts.  You can browse by subject and "pin" interesting things to your board.  Your boards are shared with others and the info is astounding.  I am warning you, this is addictive.  My niece told me about it and warned me.  I didn't listen.  Now I have to limit myself to a time frame each day that I can surf pinterest!  But seriously, I love it!

I am hoping that tomorrow I can set up my Etsy store.  I plan to spend the entire cold, gray day in my jammies figuring it all out.  So, with some luck I will announce the opening of my Etsy store here tomorrow!

Prayers to all.  I am headed to my desk.  I have a paper idea stuck in my head and I have to figure it out!
